Puppy ID Bands - Two Pack - 8 Inch and 14 Inch sold together
Colorful ID collars for newborn puppies. The puppy bands provide an easy way for breeders to keep up with who's who in a litter. Each package contains 12 collars (bands) so each pup wears a different color. Our wrap-around style puppy bands are lightweight and thin made with a softer (safer) velcro material that self attaches. When used correctly, they are safe for young puppies and other small animals.
The 8 inch size is recommended for all breeds (newborns) to start with. The 8 inch size can be used for about 7 days before moving up to a larger size if desired.
The 16 inch size is for giant breeds or older puppies with long hair. These bands are slightly wider and stiffer than the other sizes.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to wrap the puppy band straight around so that it attaches to itself completely. There should be a minimum 2 inch overlap for it to have a secure grip. Wrap the band loose enough that a finger can slide under it but not so loose that it can get hung on another object. Check daily for growth adjustments. Please view the video on the home page which shows how to wrap the puppy band around the neck of a young puppy. These are temporary collars and not intended for long term use. Because they are made of a softer (safer) material, fading may occur sooner than other stiffer velcro products.
For breeders who like to keep detailed records on all the puppies, we offer color coordinated Record Keeping Charts that match our Puppy ID Bands. This is a great record keeping system that allows breeders to keep track of whelping details, feeding times, daily & weekly weight progress, vaccinations, wormings, microchip numbers and new puppy owner information. The record keeping task is greatly simplified when the Puppy ID Bands are used together with the charts.
